According to Pásztor István, president of the Provincial House of Representatives, the budget problem rose after the Parliament adopted the new Budget Law Act in September. He emphasized that this new act demolishes the provincial right to receive 7 percent of the Republican budget. "We do not want anything that is not guaranteed by the constitution," said Pásztor, and added that the current situation is unacceptable. On the other hand the provincial president said that in the past nine years the Serbian parliament refused to talk about every Vojvodinian proposal, but now they are willing to do so. Nebojsa Stefanovic, current president of the Serbian Skupstina was very open to the proposal which is definitely a step forward. (Beta, Tanjug)
