According to the Republican Statistical Office the city of Subotica (Szabadka) has 141,554 inhabitants which is 6847 less than in 2002. At the last census 50,469 citizens declared themselves as Hungarians, 38,254 as Serbs, 14, 151 as Croats and 13, 553 as Bunjevci. The data shows that currently there are 2959 Romani inhabitants in Subotica and an additional 1,349 Montenegrin. 11,815 citizens did not want to express their nationality.
