The farmers are protesting

The farmers in Vojvodina are dissatisfied with the way of government subsidies distribution, therefore, they have announced a new protests. Approximately they raised 80 road circuits throughout Vojvodina in the last two days. The farmers want the government to restore the previous subsidy distribution system. However, several farmer unions do not agree with the timing and the method of the protest. Vojislav Malešev, the leader of the 100 paora plus, said that the timing is awful, because at the moment no one will listen to them, because the elections will be in ten days, and now everybody is busy with their campaign and the election and no one is paying attention to the farmers. As he said it would be much wiser to wait until the elections are over and the changes should be sought from those who will win the elections.
Miloš Milovanović, Deputy Minister for Agriculture, said that dispite of the farmers' dissatisfaction, the ministry is not considering the restoration of the previous scheme. (B92)
