Head of the Parliament of Vojvodina to Announce Elections on March 22nd

The Parliament of Vojvodina will have its last session in this composition on March 4th. Head of the parliament will announce elections on March 22nd according to the statute of the province.

Milorad Gašić, general secretary of the Parliament of Vojvodina said to the Dnevnik daily newspaper that the statute of the province is very specific about the date on which head of the parliament has to announce elections.

According to the 33. chapter of the statute, head of the parliament should announce elections 90 days before the end of the mandate of the parliament of Vojvodina, so that elections be held in the next 60 days.

There could be sessions held during the election period, but usually there are not.

According to the statute of the province, the first session of the new parliament is to be announced by the head of the parliament, 30 days after the elections the latest.

Serbian parliament will have its last session on March 3rd before parliamentary elections

Last session of the Serbian parlaiment will be held on Thursday, and MPs will vote about the new minister of defence.

The new candidate for the position of the minister of defence is Zoran Đorđević, state secretary in Ministry of Defence.

Aleksandar Vučić will be there at the session, too, to reason the proposition on the position of the minister of defence.

The Serbian Parliament is having sessions every day till Thursday.
