The military may be mobilized if there is need for that, said Nikola Selakovic minister of justice. Tomislav Nikolic, Serbian head of state empowered the minister of defence to do so – added Selakovic, at the press following the session of the security council on Thursday, where they discussed migrant crisis.
This means that military might intervene if police cannot keep up order at the borders, and such a decision may be made by the minister of defence, too, if the head of state is not in the country.
“State institutions, security services will have enough time, space and capacity to answer all security challenges and protect state order and citizens”, said Selakovic and added that safety of citizens and their belongings is a priority, and every state institution and body has to act accordingly.
At the session there were the prime minister Aleksandar Vucic, minister of interior Nebojsa stefanovic, executive defence minister Zoran Djordjevic and haeds of military and security services.
