Citizenship oath ceremony with the Hungarian Prime Minister

On Friday Korsós Tamás Consul General in the Hungarian Embassy in Subotica attended a citizenship oath ceremony at the Consulate where the guest of honor was Orbán Viktor Prime Minister of Hungary.
The Consul General stressed, that this is a very special occasion, because the Consulate General of Subotica was opened exactly ten years ago on St. Stephen's day by the late Zoran Đinđić and Orbán Viktor. In addition to these the Prime Minister was the first one to fully support the simplified naturalization procedure in 2010.
Orbán Viktor said that this is his first time to participate in a citizenship oath ceremony.
"When in 2010 the voters trusted me with their votes, and I was able to form a strong government, my first task was to guarantee the Hungarian citizenship to those ethnic Hungarians who live outside the Hungarian borders. –said Orban. Today we are on a good track. On the 15th of March, 2011 the first ethnic Hungarians could take their citizenship oath. In the past year about 150 thousand ethnic Hungarian took the oath, and very soon another 100 thousand ethnic Hungarians will receive it.".
