The negative campaign reduces chances of the SNS and the DS

Thanks to the negative pre-election campaign the chances of the two strongest parties, the Democratic Party (DS) and the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) are reducing. According to the Partner Consulting Agency’s latest surveys the SNS lost 5 percent of their voters, while the DS lost 3 percent of their supporters. This means that the Serbian Progressive Party has 24 percent of the public support, while the DS enjoys 21.8 percent of the voters’ confidence. Miroslav Šutić, Executive Director of the Partner Consulting Agency, said that their survey shows that the SNS presidential candidate, Tomislav Nikolić will receive the majority of the votes in the first round approximately 28.2 percent, while Boris Tadic, candidate of the DS will receive approximately 24.8 percent.
According to the survey the second round will be tight when the Democrats' candidate will get 50.2 percent of the votes, while Nikolić will get 49.8 percent.
