Tomislav Nikolić is the new president of Serbia. On Sunday evening Boris Tadic congratulated his opponent. The difference between the two candidates is about 2 percent, according to the preliminary results Nikolić obtained 49.7% while Tadic received 47%.The new president thanked the citizens of Serbia for supporting him, and stated that Serbia will continue its’ journey towards the European immersion. Nikolić said that he will resign as the chairman of the Serbian Progressive Party in order to fulfill the presidential position. (B92)
